The Library does not typically purchase textbooks, though a professor may occasionally use one of our books as a textbook (e.g. Fast Food Nation is assigned to some ENG 100 courses). You can search to see if a book is in our collection via Onesearch.
Course Reserves
Some UHWO professors do place textbooks on Course Reserve for students to use. All items that are on Course Reserve for the current semester can be found on this spreadsheet. Course Reserve items can be checked out with a valid UHWO student ID from the Library’s Circulation Desk. Loan periods vary based on the instructor’s preference, usually 3-hours, so pay attention to the time Library staff tell you it is due. Course Reserve items are library-use only, so they should not be taken out of the Library.
